Official: President Names Upper East Regional Minister

The president of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo has nominated Stephen Yakubu as the Upper East Regional Minister in his next term office.

The president submitted the names of his appointees including Stephen Yakubu to parliament pending approval.

Stephen Yakubu was a member of parliament for the  Binduri constituency in the Upper East Region of Ghana from 2009 to 2013.

Stephen Yakubu is a 54-year-old graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University Of Science and Technology(KNUST) where he studied planning. He s also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Information Systems from Thames Valley University Slough, United Kingdom.

If approved, Mr. Stephen will not have a deputy as the president moves to drastically reduce the number of his appointees in his previous government.

Mr. Stephen will take over from Hon. Tangoba Abayage served between 2018 and 2021 after Rockson Bukari was assigned a different duty at the presidency.
