Nurses and midwives at the Kpalbe Health Center in the North Gonja District of the Savannah Region have resorted to boiling medical equipment instead of using sterilizers in the decontamination process at the facility.
This is due to the unavailability of an autoclave machine used in decontaminating used medial equipment before it is used on another health care seeker.
The health officers are have to put the used equipment in a basin and boiled under a gas cylinder for some mintutes.
This video appeared on captured by Tv3’s regional correspondent, Christopher Amoako, who is seeking financial support from the public to help buy an autoclave machine for the health facility.
