Upper West Based Musician, Halim Salia, affectionately known as Jackstil has lamented about the fact musicians sabotage themselves in the music industry.

Jackstill launched his first studio Album dubbed “Ye Yaw” on 5th May 2022, a day after Sallah which had poor attendance and left him in losses instead profits or gains. He did not attribute the poor attendance to the heavy rainfall on the day of the event which brought rescheduling or change of dates but to a camp who staged a free show very close to the venue of his album launch and colleague musicians which he describes as pure sabotage.

JackStill is of the view that Upper West talents needs to come together and project musicians globally to attain international dominance just like Tamale and other regions do.

Shedding tears whiles speaking to the media, he admitted that the over 40 musicians that were on the bill could not save the show. ” Bra Ike, I’m the free minded person, I don’t hate anybody in the industry, I have always supported everyone yet I was not shown mercy, the over 40 musicians, yet none was able to bring numbers to the show leading to its flop”.

He added that industry players and musicians in the region are mostly known for petty conflicts and controversies among themselves. “Some musicians are trying desperately to dispute and disprove their colleagues”.

Well, Jackstill believes that musicians needs to unite in projecting talent counted with supported efforts.

I was sabotaged, I lost the little I had too , Sabotage is bad, he ended with uncontrollable tears.
