Former DJ turns Minister of State

Must read

Mark Okraku Mantey has been approved by Ghana’s appointment committee in Parliament to become a deputy minister of State in charge of Tourism, Arts, and culture.

Mark’s nomination by President Nana Akufo-Addo on 21 April 2021 was well received by industry players except a few who had their own issues about the interim president of the Creative Arts Agency.

Many know Mark Okraku Mantey as a pundit, executive producer, or record producer but he was a Dj too. In fact, he worked with radio stations as their Dj.

The elevation comes as promising as encouraging to people in the entertainment industry.

Mark recounts how his girl friend broke up with him because he was Dj.

“I lost a relationship because the person said I was a DJ and I wasn’t going to be someone better in the future’

He continues ‘“That’s why we have to do well to remove that aspect that it’s a hopeless job and for outcasts. We must beautify it so we can be proud like the footballers.”

“Today people want their kids to marry footballers but when we were young it wasn’t so,” he said.

Now a minister, this lady might want to stage a comeback but it is surely too late.

We extent our well wishes to Mark Okraku Mantey.
