The chopper caring the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo was forced to land in Tamale early morning on 13th July 2021 due to unfavorable weather climates in Wa, the Upper West Regional capital.
The flight was initially planned to land on an airstrip in Wa but sensing danger, the pilots chose the Tamale airport for an emergency landing, local media reports.
The president is however safe.
There are reports of heavy rainfall in the Savannah, Northern, and some parts of the North East regions early this morning.The atmosphere looks foggy and windy.
The President is on a working visit to the Upper West region. He was in the Savannah region yesterday and had already been to the Upper East and North East regions.
